Dear Parents, I write this letter to inform you of the things that we are doing at GMAA to try and help prepare for any cancelations that this new virus may cause. It is known that we just got our first case of the virus in Miami-Dade which leads to believe that more will follow. This virus has been declared a Pandemic event which means it is a world epidemic and it is a threatening event for the whole world. If you have been paying attention to the news preparations and ways to protect yourself are constantly being transmitting.  Advice like washing your hands consistently, avoiding contact with one another like hugging, shaking hands, etc. will help in deterring this disease. 

We have cancelled class on Monday March 16, not because any one is sick or has tested positive for the virus but to take the day to plan on how to proceed for the next few weeks. We urge that if you were out of the country to stay home in quarantine for 14 days. We also want to remind you that if Miami-Dade takes an action of closing the schools we will follow suit for as long as they do.

More information will be forth coming after Monday’s meeting with the teachers and staff. We urge and pray that you take this virus seriously and take precautions to remain safe. We also want you to remain calm and have faith because God is in control. May God Bless us all and be safe!
